This is one of three documents that go together. The Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what we do with it. The Cookie Policy explains the cookies this website uses. The Terms of Use set out the rules for using the site. Together they apply to the Ethical Agent Network website, to our member app, and to the systems we run behind them.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Some are essential to make the site work. Others help us understand how the site is used, or measure whether our advertising works. Similar technologies, such as pixels and local storage, do comparable jobs, and we use the word "cookies" to cover all of them.
2. The cookies we use
Strictly necessary cookies. These make the website work and cannot be switched off. They include the cookies that keep members signed in to the member area, cookies that protect the site against malicious activity, and the cookie that records your cookie choices so we do not ask you on every page. These are used on the basis that they are essential to provide the service you have asked for.
Analytics cookies: Google Analytics. With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google, to understand how visitors use the site: which pages are read, how people arrive, and where the site could work better. Google Analytics sets cookies including _ga and cookies beginning _ga_, which last up to two years and distinguish one visitor from another. The information collected includes your device and browser details and the pages you visit. Google processes this information on our behalf and may process it on servers in the United States, under the safeguards described in our Privacy Policy, section 11. We have configured our analytics to retain visitor-level data for no longer than 14 months.
You can learn more in Google's privacy policy, and you can additionally opt out of Google Analytics everywhere using Google's browser add-on.
Advertising cookies: Meta Pixel. With your consent, we use the Meta Pixel, a service provided by Meta (the company behind Facebook and Instagram), to measure whether our advertising on Meta's platforms is working, and to help us reach people likely to be interested in the network. The Pixel sets cookies including _fbp, which lasts three months, and may receive information about your visit, such as the pages you view and the actions you take.
If you have a Facebook or Instagram account, Meta may connect this information to it under its own privacy policy. You can manage how Meta uses information for advertising in your Meta ad preferences.
3. Your consent, and changing your mind
Analytics and advertising cookies are only set if you accept them through the cookie banner shown when you first visit. If you decline, the site works normally without them. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings link in the website footer, which shows the banner again. Withdrawing consent stops the cookies being used from that point on, and you can also delete existing cookies through your browser.
4. Managing cookies in your browser
Every major browser lets you view, block and delete cookies through its settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working, such as the member sign-in. Guidance for each browser is available at allaboutcookies.org.
