Spoiler alert: YES. And not just a little bit, a lot.
We recently ran a poll in our Daily Ideas group, and the results were as clear as a crisp winter morning in Yorkshire.
Almost 100 people voted “YES”, only 2 said “no” (they were clearly having a grumpy Monday), and another 2 voted “I don’t know”, which we assume happened mid-gulp of a cuppa.
The message? Community involvement absolutely matters.
But you already knew that, didn’t you?
It makes perfect sense.
Community is the heartbeat of every estate agent’s daily life.
Unless your office has been mysteriously relocated to Mars, you’re dealing with a very real, very human community made up of homeowners, tenants, landlords, buyers, sellers, dog walkers, and that one neighbour who always knows everything before anyone else.
These people aren’t just names on your CRM.
They’re the ones who see you at the school sports day, spot your board at the charity fun run, notice you pretending to jog around the park, and bump into you at the café (where you order “just a small pastry”… allegedly).
And here’s the magic:
When agents get involved, really involved, people notice.
And when they notice, they trust you.
Being a decent human doesn’t require grand gestures.
Most of the time, it’s the simple things.
Showing up consistently.
Supporting something local.
Lending a hand.
Offering a smile.
Asking how someone is doing.
Helping without expecting praise or a pat on the back.
Those small moments add up to one big thought in the minds of your community: “Wow… I’d trust them with my home.”
And that’s exactly why I love The Karma Club.
We created The Karma Club as the community and charitable arm of The Ethical Agent Network because we genuinely believe business can and should do good.
The Karma Club celebrates agents who support local causes, champion their high streets, show up, roll up their sleeves, raise funds, raise smiles, and make a positive difference where they serve.
Because when you do good, good comes back around.
(That’s karma, and yes, your nan would absolutely approve.)
So, if you want more instructions, stronger relationships, and a reputation that sparkles brighter than a Christmas tree in December, get involved.
Be present.
Do the right thing.
Your community cares because you care.
Cheers Carmin
